Penang Sakura "Like" Festival... :-)
The peak blossom was early of last weeks..
This was taken a week later..
after a few storms during the week the flowers started to drop..

You can see lot of pple started photographing along the road side..
or strolling under the trees.. :)
Around Penang Island you can find these temporary tourist spot at Bayan Lepas/ Bayan Baru area
Mainly 3 colors available... pink, purple/blue, white..
the yellow one is exceptional... :-)

Burger Oblong

For ramly burger fan.. New burger in town!! Go hunt it down!

Today I visited the stall in front of my apartment..
I saw the kids (i havent been there for a while.Yes, change owner again) fried different style of meat..
I asked "Itu apa?"
Kid: "Oblong"
"hot long?"
"Oblong, style baru.. ini burger mcDonald.."
"oooo... i c..oblong " i read it from their advertisement in front of the stall..
Yes it definitely looks like the prosperity burger..

It actually more juicy.. they are not stingy on the sauce..
i was awe to see how much he squeezed the source to the burger.. :-p
less spicy... less pepper taste...as compare to McD one..
or shud i said just nice? hahahahaha

it just that may be the source/meat that they used.. got an additional of different "taste"..
overall it is recommended to try.. :)

It costs me RM3.50 for a prosperity time .. :-p

after a moment later...
WY: "LY bu-yun??？"

I really a bit puzzle.
As I know LY is (still) single...

SL:"Yes her mother help her to bu-yun"
SL explained futher "they got 'ban-tang' bu-yun cannot go.. later 'chong'"

Personally i think what it trying to say is: 2 stories buidling with double bed rooms at 1F and single bed rooms on 2nd floor total is 5 rooms.Hot shower room is at 1F with price of 100Krp and 2F rooms come with bathtub and hot shower and refrigerator with 150K. Anyway, all is gorgeous, It is Rp. at this150.000 is low!

Drive through Apong Guan

Apong is a type of food. A pancake like.

Penang has a 'very' famous apong selling at Jalan Burmah just beside Union Primary school. and you can place order through phone 016-4093701 or drive through...
but sorry.. no delivery service..

The first time i passed by here was last year when i was hunting for some food for my tea break at 5pm and it caught my attention with the crowd.
Then I was being informed that i need to wait very long...
I was a bit stunned. The uncle can make 8 pieces at one time..
so how long could it be?
With small apetite i have,
i said ok i can wait patiently.. I just need 3.

but then soon i learnt the 'longness' when the next customer came to order..
the car along the curb were the customer waiting in line for their order...
and each of them were ordering like 20,50,10,60 pcs and so...
so imagine i was waiting the uncle to make more than 150 of apong then only it will reach for my turn.. which is only 3 i needed..
so that's long, very long...
and i was hungry...

interesting enuff is...
there is another apom stall just few steps down the road...
and it was sorta crowded with cars in front of the stall..
but those were not his customers.. :-)
since i was hungry..
i decided not to wait and to have the apong from the next door..

so..yesterday i got the chance to revisit Ah Guan's Apong..

inside the apong, uncle guan will put 2 small slices of banana and small portion of corn..

mmm.. so how i felt about the apong?
I am not fancy about this apong.
in fact this is the 2nd time i have it..
i would said.. it smell good..
taste smooth in the mouth
the banana taste is strong as compare with the corn..
it is very soft..
my fren who like apong said it tasted different compare to normal one.

BTW, a side note, ... ApOng got a 'funny' meaning in penang... :-)
just like 'kuih' it can mean something different while you talk in Hokkien in Penang...

When i was flipping through today newspaper i thought it was just another ordinary advertisement..

Somehow it caught my attention with the big "Dear Malaysian Politicians".

Big font and Bold...

and followed by a caption of

"please stop the power chase, call for a truce and focus on economy."

An 'unusual' adv indeed.

Are (were) you dead?

Was reading a news regarding a dead man walking on the street in Sabah.
A businessman is walking alive but the record in National Registration Department said otherwise...
he is (was) dead 8 years ago.

How could this has happened?
And this is the 2nd case reported?

Is there another me walking out "there", I wonder
I have lost my IC once though...
Is my identity being stolen (yet)?

I think we should make a trip to NRD? :-)

多春 . many springs

多春 (duo chun or many springs) & 青天 (qing Tian or Green Sky) motivated me to wake up early on this fine saturday..

I drove around, and stucked into traffic for about 30min or more in Center of Georgetown..
just to look for 多春 (many springs)..
I almost giving up looking for 'her'
and went to see 青天 (qing tian)..
but 青天 (qing tian) not there yet..
so returning to find 多春 (many springs)

Finally i found it..
I got the direction wrong from PenangTuaPui..
So who is or rather what is 多春 (many springs)?
多春 (duo chun) is a kopitiam name situated at a back alley.
right on the left of Campbell Street after you turn left from Penang Street..
According to PenangTuaPui it serves Nostalgia Roti Bakar..

the parking lots are pitifully scarce overhere..
further more there is a big market near by..
making it worst..
after making 2 rounds..
and i am already very hungry at 10am..
i dont want to repeat my mistake of paying 30RM for 3 bowls of Cendul..
i decided to park into the parking "garage" nearby..
Wow.. first 45 minutes RM3..

pheow pheow...
better be sure that this roti bakar real worth it..
I ordered a cup of Kopi... (yeah kopi)
a plate of roti bakar with kaya..
and a half boiled egg..



When i first bite the roti.. i kinda regretted...
no.. its not the taste.. the taste is just normal..
but the kaya is smooth..
i regretted about the parking.. :-)

It has been a while i didnt take half boiled egg..
Eating with soya source and peper..
it actually tasted not bad though..

though i have limited capacity..
I felt not enuff still with what i have here...
So i ordered another plate of roti..



Actually i like their service..
With crowded of people
The waiter happily explained to me various type of roti they serve..
they home made the kaya and peanut..



This is the reason why it is being described as Nostalgia Roti Bakar



Guess what... I saw a few Malay families patronize here too..
Some of them seems to be regular customers here...

I feel the Malaysian being Malaysian... :-)

mmm... talk about coffee...
last whole year I really have a good year of coffee...
we have a coffee brewer at the pantry sponsored by Roland, an expat from SJ.
so we started brewing our own espresso almost every evening..
and here are my prize!!! or rather collections..



Lets introduce some of these collections...
see the far left package... Peets coffee...
US most famous coffee beside than starbucks...

the 3rd from left black and white packaging..
that was brought back by my fren brought from Paris..

the 7th and 8th and 9th are Vietnam most famous brand..
Trung Nguyen..
A group of my frens went vietnam at 2007 year end..
they brought back vietnam coffee..
the aroma is so good and so different...
since them we craving for it..
until we search up and down to get someone to bring the coffee for us..
so you can see i have various of Trung Nguyen packaging
and among the trung nguyen...
the gold color packing..'Legendee' is the best and it costs me RM45..
and also among the most expensive on display i believe..:-p

Boxes start from left 1st, 2nd, and 4th are product of Taiwan..
Especially the first box it is Taiwan famous 3-in-1 coffee..
Well, that was according to a Taiwanese who recommended it to my fren..
Maxim is Japan product actually..
but this pack was brought back from Taiwan..

I have lost a collection of Japan Coffee i bought in Japan..
forgot the name too.. it was nice as well..
Japan instant coffee, black coffee normally..
It actually smell very nice..
as nice as the fresh brew espresso..

Each of these coffee have their own aroma and taste..
some are sour, normally these are Asian roasted...
and western coffee are toward bitterness..
Vietnam coffee neither because we will mix with condensed milk..
and it tasted nicer with it..
Different brewing/making of the coffee will result in different taste..

For me slowly sipping and tasting the coffee, and the aroma is a way to enjoy the beauty of life and get relax..

If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world playing the best music ever written, how many other things are we missing?
