Chiang Mai - Day 1

Arrived at Chiang Mai International Airport at around...
dont know what time.
With stormy stamach, and tired face...
I spotted a taxi sign at a counter behind the baggage claim area.
Walked over to the counter.
I supposed to ask for a taxi voucher instead the guy started introduced me some tour itineries.
All with promotion price.
Somehow it attracts me but I was debating within myself.
Shud I listen to him or shud I listen to my stomach.
But he is too nice, non-stop. no chance is given to me..
and i was too good to be a listener..
At the time we almost going to close the deal and me headed for some food hunt,
a couple chipped in.
They are interested too.. and .. so we go all over again.
By then my stomach stopped drumming.
We renegotiated the whole itineries all over again to accomodate each other need.
Finally after about more than 30min..could be 1 hour,
We concluded the 3 days itenery deal for RM280/pax free airport transfer.

We reached Suriwongse hotel at about 330pm.
I was so tire after spending my whole morning waiting for the 'retimed' flight to Chiang Mai.
Air Asia used the word RETIMED instead of DELAYED.
The flight got RETIMED from 0850 to 1100. So we didnt get any compensation.
It is RETIMED because they sent me a notification at around 0530.
Heck! that was while i already on my way came to LCCT to catch the 2 hours check in time. kns.
Then it was DELAYED from 1100 to 1130 because we wasnt being pre informed. clk.

Anyway my father was tireless.
He got excited to learn that we were staying at the heart of the famous night bazaar area...

He is so energetic it is almost instantly after we settle in the hotel room.He asked to go jalan-jalan.
I opened my big eyes...
'Dad, can we please rest for a while.
In fact there are nothing down there now. The night bazaar will only start at 6pm'.'

In the end we still get down to the street ahead of the night bazaar operation hour by 30min.

Fish Hot Pot (Hu Lor)

My fren wanted to eat Fish & Steamboat in so little time.
So I remembered Starview's Hor Lor. 1 stone 2 birds!
I have been there once early this year for a gathering lunch.

This is my 2nd visit there for Hu Lor it tasted a lot nice that my 1st visit.

Hor lor is 1 of the starview famous dishes.

So what is Hor lor?



The Hot Pot fish soup is very tasty although a bit oily. There are Taufu inside the soup. This Hot Pot cost RM55 depending on the fish. I forgotten what fish we were having. The serving shud be just nice for 3? because it was too much for us (2pax).

So here is Starview Restaurant. Located at Jalan Burma. Right beside Chow Tian Yan Aquarium.

I landed safely at Penang International Airport.
I was on boarding AK 6318 1110 LCCT-Penang flight.
It was a rough 1 hour journey.

When it first took off.
The flight swayed and shake a bit.
It flied unstable up and 'drop'..
causing anxiousness in the air...
passengers making uneasiness noice..

like riding roller coaster..for a few minutes...

then everything became normal until about 30 minutes later...
despite the pre announcement of facing some turbulence..
yet...
the passengers still caught off guard..
it shake violently and with a sharp dropped..
we forgot to scream...gripping hard on the chair..sat tight and pray
the kid sitting next row...
started crying...
passanger seated in front vomitting hard...
i was searching for a watch...for the time...
the landing time...

it announced that it will land shortly...
that shortly was about 30 min... kns
at about 12pm we still yet to see the sight of green...
thru the small windows.. we saw white and grey intermintantly

Phew....finally it landed...just before it touched...
i have my final 'prayer'..
"please touch the runaway...."

...PHEW...

Co'm Viet The Hidden Vietnamese Restaurant

Introduce you a Vietnamese Restaurant at Pulau Tikus, Penang.
I just went there for dinner today.

Here some photos taken with my handphone...
I like it all. 2 thumbs up... .

Started with the starter.... The northern style spring rolls (RM10). very fresh and juicy... with the source... it is real appertizer.... hahahha... think about it i am feeling hungry again....

  

Then come the main courses.. teng teng... :) 

   

Yeah 2 hot pots........ we were greedy.....
We have duck hot pot with their special source.. it taste slightly spicy due to the spices they used i guess (may be ginger) it is exotic but the taste is special and nice...

 

another hot pot is eels.... it taste spicy with thick gravy...  at first i didnt really get a good taste of this eels because i hv the duck first... but my housemate loves it...

 

she said it is nice to eat with rice.... somehow i slowly gain back the taste..but i still prefer the duck... i don really a fish taker... =p

Then we were really greedy and ambitious. We ordered a noodle....Vietnamese cold noodle....
Yes it is nice... sweet and sour with just nice the fish source... very healty & delicious... slurp slurp.... i need supper....

 

Thats the end of my dinner.... Need to mention... their beef is real tasty...
their duck ..i don feel like i am eating duck... the meat is so tender and soft.... well of course the eels are fresh and soft... 2 persons eat.. we paid around RM66 for everything..
Quite a satisfy dinner... of course RECOMMENDED....
I will definitely go back there to try something different... may be the pork leg hot pot...
By the way the Menu is without picture....=p

The rebate II

Waking up late in the morning after spending much of the time awake for the passed 2 days... EURO FEVER..
I planned to turn up for getting my share of rebate...

I reached tesco @ about 11..
The pos office not yet open..
but there was already long Q out there...
and they actually Q...=p

I decided to drop the idea of getting my rebate today

The Q at around 1230noon. PO only open just half door

The rebate

Today is the first day of the car fuel subsidize rebate.
My housemate went.
Before she left to POS Office.. I reminded her that
yesterday news, the ketua POS announced the process took just 3 min.

In the afternoon, She SMS me.
She told me the Q is extremely long.
She was 200++ behind the Q at 1 hour 30min ago...
and at the instant she SMS there is still another 100++ in front of her...

She insist to wait no matter how because she scares after today Pak Lah might decide that this is not a way to solve the issue, the payout is just too much and so revert the rebate....
Then what supposedly should get we ended getting nothing...

In newspaper... sinchew... you will see a lot readers responding to the rebate..
and their response is similar... they scare the government will change their mind so there is the rush... GOLD rush.... =p

Passport Renewal - Machine

I went to bank street for passport renewal the other day.

My friend has advised me to locate the Information Counter.
So I walked in... looking for the sign of 'I' or Information...
hahahahaha....I saw none...start cursing..where the hell the Information counter is...
I saw only Penerangan... =p I cant link it with 'I' neither Information
It took me a while and hesitately I approached to the 'counter'.
'Penerangan' still doesnt make sense to me...  :-)

'yeah cik.. nak buat passport?'
'eh ya.. renew'
'Oh.. ada photos? photostate Ic, passport lama?'
Hand over to one of the official (i think)
A lot of 'Official' there with different uniform. They are more than the public.

'Wow..apa ni.... kasih saya ya... saya ambil saje yeah..'
'ooopppsssss.... sorry'
I have slipped the renewal fee into the passport previous nite.
So when i passed over the passport it looked like am giving 'rasuah' or some kind...hahaha

'Cik, kena ada photostate IC dalam A4, beli borang dan isi butir butir. lepas tu ambil numbor, tunggu di bilik sebelah'
'nak isi borang?....... boleh guna machine?'
'Oh...nak guna machine? boleh... tu 'kakak machine' boleh tolong.'

The kakak machine brought me to another small room equiped with a ATM like machine..
Wonder why at the first place they didnt propose to use machine which is much more convenient...

The kakak machine is pretty thought... hahahahahaa
Apparently to use the machine first scan the passport...
scan your right thumb print..
if matching your detail will be displayed on the screen..
Verified then chose the passport type you wanna do..
Insert the money...
Remember the money has to be inserted with Agong head first...hahaha
This is unlike any deposit machine...
Remember also it is accepting only RM50/RM100 notes... well at least for this particular one...

After done you will need to put ur old passport and photos (2 pcs) into a ready envelope with some info on the cover...
the pretty kakak machine took care of it for me ...
then dropped the envelope into the machine...
Collect the receipt..
You are ready to collect the passport after 2 hours...

Change your lifestyle...

Okok...now petrol price hike..78c...it is like 42% increase..
and then electricity as well ..

There were a rush at petrol station last nite...
I was 1 of the victim due to the rush...
I was stucked in the massive jam at Penang island...

and i heard a lot of grumbling, scolding, and .....sigh a lot a lot....

well.. People it is already become fact...
just HOPE or No HOPE that government use the money wisely... =p
Control our daily good, product price wisely
(somehow they increase the electricity right away... tsk tsk)

Abdullah please wake up.
Don said one thing at one day and 24 hours later change the story ..
(he said the petrol price will be review on august at Tuesday 3-June;
24 hours later he announced price adjust by midnite Jun 4... )
Probably he urges to step down...
(he said he wanna step down end of the year, did he?
so if now is august then...aha)

Anyway.... it is already happened...
life still have to go on....
just be extra careful....
Possible that crime rate will be shoting high..
Everything will be expensive taking this as "Advantage"
sigh....life still goes on...
Here is our home....
Life still goes on until u find something better...
so stop grumbling and complaining... =)
