Differences

so now am back at homeland.
Pple start asking me what are the differences there and here...

1.Driving through and back from office.
THERE my feet 70% on accelerator pedal,
HERE my feet 70% on brake pedal.
THERE no Q cutting,
   HERE Q cutting, snake drivers.
THERE 70% I overtake other car,
HERE 70% I am being overtaken.
THERE 99% cars on the road,
HERE 70% 2'wheels machines' on the road.
THERE you drive 120-130km/hr(75-80m/hr) from suburb to surburb,
Here you drive 110km.hr (68m/hr) from state to state.
THERE I used V6 sport car,
   HERE I am driving 998cc.

No complaint though.

Postcard Row

Rdscn7851 Finally I found the Postcard row. Also known as The Painted Ladies. i always can see this photo from the tourist book mentioning that  "This is perhaps the most photographed vista in the city"

Here is the description I took from a website*

This is perhaps the most photographed vista in the city. It was made famous initially on postcards sent around the world, then to mass audiences by the television show Too Close for Comfort which had its fictional home in these row houses. It is the contrast of skyscrapers with Victorian buildings that is so engaging. And for the city, it illustrates its ability to embrace what is new and modern without turning its back on its cherished (though brief) history. This is an easy place to take photographs because of the park across the street.

"Cough Mixture"

I left office early today in the mission of buying myself a cough mixture.

I have been coughing for more than a week.

It irritates people and I am not able to sleep well.

I went to a chinese medicine shop in hope that I could find some Cap Ubat Batuk .

"ooppssss...it is selling mainly western supplements"

Anyway I requested to have "

And the lady apologized she doesn’t have any of those instead she immediatelly introduce me a small bottle蜂膠 Propolis. (Bee glue after search in the net)

I have no idea what is that.

Well price always the first thing come to our mind..

"How much?"

"39......"

"!!!!!!" I didn’t catch the rest of the sentence...39???

She explained the benefit of the Propolis and why the brazilian bee glue is the best.

http://www.royalnatural.ca/?gclid=CP3h05few4oCFREcYAod-lZkiw

I don’t have cash but that’s not the problem.

The shop accepts credit. *Duh this is US.

I pull out my supposedly invalid credit card.

It surprised me one more time that the card no more invalid. That’s mean I am good with my credit again…haha..

I just drank it..

It is nothing I can describe…it doesn’t taste good.

It is very very bad taste

I am the "best" consumer ever.

Just hope that this 35 “cough mixture” or whatever could cure my throat!

Chinese New Year Preparation

Another 1 weekend then we say bye bye to the 2006 Lunar Year.
Welcome the New Lunar Year, Chinese New Year.

So what preparation have you done?

Since last week I have been working on with 2 Load Runner test scripts.
Expecially the citrix recording I was struggling. * Yeah that doesnt sound familiar to you ya

And then from this week on ward, I am supposed to develop an End to end business processes.
To 'extract' as much information as I can from my Mercury developer.
* I also know that's sound too technical to you

Preparing for the test day which fall on 19 Feb. *nod* thats 2nd day of Chinese New Year.
At the same time there are so many production issues.

For me my Chinese New Year preparation ended a month ago.
After I have finished shopping New Year clothes for my nieces and nephew.

My original Chinese New Year plans and so many of them have been spoilt many many times.
So I will end up .......

This isnt the first time I will be celebrating Chinese New Year at foreign land.
However, this would be the first time I will be celebrating the Chinese New Year without my family members.
And it could be only me alone.

If there is no other surprise news for me...
May be I will drop by San Francisco China Town on the first day.
I heard that there are Parade, lion & and dragon dances and firecrackers.
... finger cross...

This is *crab*..

Anyway  I wish my chinese Friends...
Happy Chinese New Year

and to all my friends
Wishing you have a prosperity year ahead.

Sick at state

When you are traveling, the last thing you want to know is sick.

Couldn't remember when was the last time i fall sick.

However yesterday was the miserable day for me.

I was having fever and very bad soar throat.

I hardly could talk because even when I nodded my head I could feel the pain.

I hardly walked around because I scare I fall. =)

I think I was in very bad condition.

So I start worry because normally if I sick it could be a few days and very serious and painful sick.

I seldom eat medicine. To prevent the sickness prolong, avoid more miserable I volunteer to find medicine. I allow myself to go home earlier.

Treat myself as patient. I slept earlier.

Well…I am recovering now.

I can talk, can walk, can drive, can work. =)

Finger cross.

The next thing you should worry about is to learn that your credit card's credit limit has reached. Yet you have a long way to go.

Freezing Cold.Bloody Crazy

It is very very very very cold.
FREEZING COLD here.
Less than 55 F.
That was almost equivalent to 10c only.

I got nothing to do on last Friday.
So at 10c happily I went lepaking in town.
Half of my parking fee used to keep me warm while reading free manga in Borders
COLD.

Muir Wood National Park.
I only have 3 layers on top. 1 layer bottom.
Jesus….it is biting cold on my fingers and toes.
My body numb in the middle of the redwood jungle.
Crazy pple. Why are will bearing the cold to see trees where there is so many in Malaysia?

That wasn’t the craziest thing yet.
We went to see snow at Lake Tahoe.
Clothing wise not much difference.
That’s all I have.
However, the temperature was greatly different.
It is negative…
We visit the lake, the bay area where the strong wind blow.
When the wind come…it was like the thousand bees stung on you.

GOSH. A bunch of crazy people. Doing unthinkable. It was Freezing cold.
I was from 2 layers top to 3 layers. I hope I could have 4th layer on.
But the other jacket isn’t big enough to become 4th layer.
Nothing could be done on bottom. I have a long john + jeans.
CRAZY totally.

First Class

I am on First Class.

Oh yah..first class seat on Boeing 747-400 from Hong Kong to San Francisco.

The security was so tight at the boarding gate.

It took me a while for the flight attendant to validate my document.

She changed my seating from 81C to 1K.

I felt awkward to the change.

Then she saw my puzzle face.

I was thinking “"huh? Why are you changing me from upper deck to lower deck?"

I don't know if I was showing her like or dislike.

She followed by the statement "this is first class"

"Oh..?1K?"

"Yes 1K"

"OK thanks"

So I am walking to the first class portion, still disbelief and very uncertain of the change.

1K. A seat for myself. A seat at the tip of the flight.

The different between the first class and business class is 1st class you have the privacy.

The chair really can go all the way down flat and more comfortable to sleep.

The blanket is comforter which causing me sweating half way through the sleep.

The amenity bag is nicer and it is from a brand called Ipa-Nima.

They gave you a pajama courtesy of Shang Hai Tang.

Nicer food may be. Got salmon or caviars as appetizer, salad as starter, lamb or duck for main course and so on…

I really think my backpack betray me. During the Q just now and now when I first appear at the first class I saw the mat salleh looking at me with weird looks. GOSH.

HKIA, here i come again

Once again I touched down at Hong Kong International Airport.

This is the 5th time as I can remember.

I always anticipate the moment before landing.

You would feel yourself surrounded by the ocean.

You feel the wheels are pushed down preparing for landing.

Still u saw the ocean below your feet a moment later the flight touched the land. AMAZING.

Walked out from the plane I said in my heart “Here, I come again.”

I actually have the feeling of homecoming.

However, then I realized that I lost my way to find the next departure gate.

I reached at train transfer area. A place I never saw before in here.

I was at the first of the Q for confirming my next flight.

A fella yelled at me "The Q start at at here".

I am very sure that i was at the right lane (first class, business class, marco polo club member).

Unwillingly I moved myself behind the Q  of 3 people.

Exit from the security area. What appeared it front of me, nothing has changed.

I walked around the shops.

Seeing people selecting the choice of souvenirs, goodies and etc.

Sales people promoting their products, chatting among themselves, discussing where to have lunch etc.

Comfortable. The environment is so peaceful and calm.

Looking out, you see the aircrafts coming in and going out.

Before the aircrafts was landed you saw the ground crews were preparing, the mechanics, cleaners, workers were all standby.

Once it was parked. 3 men carried the big stoppers and placed it at each wheels.

The cleaners were waiting for signal for them to go into the plane.

The catering truck and luggage forklift soon arrived.

Their routine duties start once again.

I have my lunch at the lounge Noodle House.

Then, I don’t know why I like the bathroom a lot, so I refreshed myself.

Now, I am waiting for my connecting flight to SFO.
